PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydrolysable silyl group-containing oxyalkylene polymer having a high mol. wt. and a narrow mol. wt. distribution. SOLUTION: This method for producing the hydrolysable silyl group-containing oxyalkylene polymer comprises reacting an alkylene oxide in the presence of a composite metal cyanide complex in which a mixture of t-butyl alcohol with one or more other compounds as organic ligands are coordinated, to obtain the polymer having a total unsaturation degree of≤0.02 meq/g, and then converting the terminal hydroxyl groups of the polymer into the hydrolysable silyl groups.
