EDFA DEVICE WITH MONITORING FUNCTION, CATV CENTER WITH MONITORING FUNCTION AND EDFA MONITORING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an EDFA monitoring system costs for incorporating a public line, resulting in requiring running cost such as line utilization charge.

SOLUTION: The EDFA device with a monitoring function is provided with an EDFA, an Ethernet switching hub unit, a CPU for controlling the transmission/reception of an alarm signal from the EDFA and an Ethernet signal, and an optical transceiver for converting the Ethernet signal between the Ethernet switching hub unit and the media converter of a CATV center into electric and light signals. A WDM filter is provided to enable WDM multiplex communication of the signals between the CATV center and the EDFA device with monitoring function. The EDFA device with monitoring function and the CATV center with monitoring function are provided, and the Ethernet signal is transmitted/received between the EDFA device with monitoring function and the CATV center, thereby enabling a monitoring device of the CATV center to monitor the EDFAs inside and outside the CATV center.
