SYSTEM FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING COLOR IMAGES AND METHOD FOR CREATING COLOR SPECIFICATION VECTOR DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for recording and reproducing color images which can reproduce colors correctly by transmitting a small quantity of information when reproducing an image photographed at a remote place. SOLUTION: The system comprises: a means of photographing spectral images 10 for photographing a subject as spectral information for each picture element, so as to precisely record and reproduce the image mutually at two places; a means of detecting a photographing light spectrum 20 for detecting spectrum distribution of lighting light at the site of photographing; a means of detecting a light spectrum in a reproduction environment 70 for detecting distribution of a lighting light spectrum at the place of reproduction; a means of computing distribution of spectral diffraction reflectance 30a for computing distribution of spectral diffraction reflectance of the subject by removing influence of the distribution of the lighting light spectrum from the spectral information; a means of converting a spectrum 30b for computing spectrum distribution when the subject is photographed with the same lighting light as that in the place of reproduction, based on the reproduction environment light spectrum and the distribution of the spectral diffraction reflectance; a means of making a vector image 30c for making spectrum distribution of each picture element into a three dimensional color specification vector; and a means of reproducing a color image 30d for making a color image based on the color vector information.
