<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a vehicle which prevents expansion of a general chamber from being influenced by a specific chamber by inflating the general chamber located on a literal wall surface of a vehicle interior with higher priority than the specific chamber located in a pillar member. <P>SOLUTION: A fluid supply delaying means 20 is provided which delays supply of high-pressure fluid to the specific chamber 2P corresponding to pillar members 14, 15 of a lateral part of a vehicle body more than other general chambers 2Q among a plurality of chambers 2 separately formed in front and rear directions of the vehicle body. The general chambers 2Q are more precedently inflated than the specific chamber 2P. Accordingly, the influence from the specific chamber 2P is reduced when the general chambers 2Q inflate.
