<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle excellent in operating efficiency of a motor. <P>SOLUTION: In the hybrid vehicle provided with an engine 1, an engine driving shaft 10 for taking out driving force of the engine 1, the motor (MG)3 for imparting the driving force to the vehicle with electric power stored in a battery 18, a MG driving shaft 19 for taking out the driving force of the MG3, and a vehicle driving shaft 15 for transmitting the driving force to be transmitted from the engine driving shaft 10 and the MG driving shaft 19 to a driving wheel 5, a motor transmission 4 having stepped gear ratio for transmitting the driving force of the MG3 to the vehicle driving shaft 15, and a clutch 22 for interrupting transmission of the driving force from the MG3 is provided. The engine driving shaft 10 is provided with a forward gear 11, a reverse gear 12, and a clutch 13 to be selectively connected with or separated from the gears 11, 12.
