PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous travel monitor capable of accurately detecting a suspicious person without receiving influence of irradiation of sunlight, and temperature fluctuations or the like. SOLUTION: This autonomous travel monitor has: a main body 1 of the monitor; a control means 5; a travel means 7 moving and traveling the main body 1 along a travel path; a travel position recognition means 4 recognizing a position during the travel and storing the travel path; an obstacle detection means 2 detecting presence/absence of an obstacle and a distance to the obstacle; a specific position storage means 6 storing a specific position on the travel path; and a person sensing means 3 detecting presence of a person. Because the control means 5 stops the main body 1 in a place stored by the specific position storage means 6 to operate the person sensing means 3 and detects the presence of the person by use of the obstacle detection means 2 together, the suspicious person can be accurately detected without receiving the influence of the irradiation of sunlight, the temperature fluctuations or the like.
