PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has high and stable wear and scuffing resistances and good electrical properties and realizes improved image quality over a prolonged period of time, and to provide a method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive support, a surface layer of the photosensitive layer is a crosslinked layer formed by curing at least a trifunctional or higher functionality radical polymerizable monomer having no charge transport structure and a radical polymerizable compound having a charge transport structure by irradiation with light energy at a light irradiation intensity of 500-1,000 mW/cm2at the time of starting irradiation.
