PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate influence of external noise and to enlarge the output. SOLUTION: An inside yoke 4 made of material of high magnetic permeability between two magnetic sensors 3A and 3B passes the same external noise to two magnetic sensors 3A and 3B, and performs differential detection with the outputs of two magnetic sensors 3A and 3B in response to two poles magnetized in mutually different axial directions. When external noise in the axial direction of a rotating shaft 1 comes, two magnetic sensors 3A and 3B can offset it, and influence of the external noise such as geomagnetism coming from a clearance between the rotating shaft 1 and a shielding member can be eliminated.
