PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new medicine for inhibiting vascular endothelial cell growth. SOLUTION: This vascular endothelial cell growth inhibitor contains astaxanthin and/or its ester as an active ingredient. The vascular endothelial cell growth inhibitor is used as a therapeutic agent for various diseases originated from neovascularization, such as tumor growth, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetic retinopathy, and is especially able to be useful for cancer cell growth inhibition, solid tumor contraction, and the like.
