A medical bandaging product (10), including a package (11) formed of a moisture-impervious material and sealable to prevent entry of moisture. A medical bandage (12) is positioned within the package (11) in substantially moisture-free conditions and sealed therein against moisture until use. The medical bandage (12) is constructed of a fabric having a pair of opposed, major surfaces and a reactive system impregnated into or coated onto the fabric. The reactive system remains stable when maintained in substantially moisture-free conditions and hardens upon exposure to sufficient moisture to form a self-supporting structure having an immobilization value of less than about 43. The fabric is preferably knitted. |
