<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure for a shift operation device, suppressing the thrust degradation of the shift operation device by effectively suppressing the heat generation of the shift operation device. <P>SOLUTION: The cooling structure cools the shift operation device 3 which is mounted on a transmission body 2 for shift operation with a shift element stored therein. In a housing 34 at the end of the transmission body 2 in which a clutch device 35 is stored to be rotated with the revolution of an engine, an exhaust port 43 is provided for exhausting rotating air A generated in the housing 34 by the rotation of the clutch device 35 to the outside of the housing 34. An intake port 45 is also provided for introducing fresh air from the outside of the housing 34 into the housing 34 each time when the air in the housing 34 is exhausted from the exhaust port 43 to the outside of the housing 34.
