PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner or two-component developer which makes the creation of the toner of a small grain size having a sharp grain size distribution possible without the need for a classification step, can be oilless fixed, can be made longer in a lifetime without spending a toner component into a carrier, and prevents middle missing and spilling at the time of transfer and obtains high transfer efficiency. SOLUTION: The toner is obtained by preparing a mixed dispersion of a wax particle dispersion dispersed with a resin particle dispersion dispersed with resin particles, colorant particle dispersion dispersed with colorant particles and wax particles; adjusting the pH of the mixed dispersion to a range from 9.5 to 12.2; adding a water soluble inorganic salt to the dispersion; subjecting the dispersion to a heat treatment to form the at least partly molten aggregated particles aggregated with the colorant particles and the wax particles; adjusting the pH when the aggregated particles are formed to a range from 7.0 to 9.5; and adjusting the subsequent pH to a range from 2.2 to 6.8.
