PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular power transmission device having reduced cost by reducing the number of part items and actualizing simplified control. SOLUTION: The vehicular power transmission device comprises a friction engagement device provided in a transmission 200 and having friction engaging elements CL16, CL19 to be moved in an engaging direction with a piston moved by oil pressure supplied to an oil pressure chamber CLP formed by a cylinder CLD and the piston CL11 and a mechanical oil pump to be driven by an engine 100 for supplying the oil pressure to the oil pressure chamber CLP. Herein, a plate spring CL100 is provided for holding the piston CL11 after elastically moved into the condition that the friction engaging elements engage with each other or right before they engage with each other.
