PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail distribution system in which immunity to a new species of and subspecific virus is reinforced. SOLUTION: An electronic mail distribution system comprises a judging means 8 for judging, on the basis of mail attributes of electronic mail, whether or not predetermined computer virus countermeasure processing is required for the electronic mail transferred from a public area mail server 1; and a countermeasure processing means 9 for holding the electronic mail without transferring it to an intra-company mail server 4 for the lapse of a predetermined delay time as predetermined computer virus countermeasure processing if it is judged that the predetermined computer virus countermeasure processing is required and further, transferring the text of the electronic mail to the intra-company mail server 4 before the lapse of the delay time if the electronic mail contains an attached file in addition to the text and it is judged that the predetermined computer virus countermeasure processing is required.
