PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer method for realizing a system capable of implementing the same process as local process carried out directly in IEEE1394 bus even in a network, which includes the IEEE1394 bus and a network other than the IEEE1394 bus. SOLUTION: At the time of reset or renewal of an IP address, information, such as GUID and IP address, is notified to all 1394 devices in a network, and thereby information of devices can be shared on real time. By replacing the IP address, which is used by a user for designating the destination, with the GUID as an intrinsic value of the 1394 device, the user can designate the destination without bothering a change in device information.
