PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance, particularly the water-proofing properties of a silver image part and in particular, to obtain high plate life properties and to improve an ink receiving rate, in a silver salt planographic printing plate having an aluminum support body. SOLUTION: In this platemaking method is carried out by exposing a planographic printing material, having physical developing nuclei between an aluminum supporting body and a silver halide emulsion layer, and then treating the plate material with at least a developing solution and a rinsing solution, the developing solution contains a polymer which is practically insoluble in water and soluble with alkali.
