PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device with which the excessive stress on a cleaning blade and a photoreceptor in a cleaning process can be reduced and a high-definition image can be obtained for a long period of time even when a small-diameter toner is used. SOLUTION: In the image recording device having at least a toner image forming means, a transfer means, a fixing means and a cleaning means, the cleaning means has the cleaning blade for scraping off the transfer residue toner on an image carrier, a dam-up member for temporarily damming up the transfer residue toner at the tip of the cleaning blade and forming a toner pool at this part, and a magnetic brush existing on the upstream side of the cleaning blade and abutting on the image carrier and further has a mechanism to move the cleaning blade and the image carrier back and forth relatively in the axial direction of the rotation of the image carrier.
