<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic-covered wire where, especially, the slidability of a cover surface is improved, in a plastic-covered wire for hanging a cable from a stretched line strung between utility poles. <P>SOLUTION: This is a plastic-covered wire for hanging a cable from a stretched line. Herein, the arithmetic average roughness Ra in the surface roughness of the face in contact with at least the above cable of the plastic cover is≥1.0μm.
