PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, capable of obtaining a high purity bisphenol F without increasing the molar ratio of phenol/formaldehyde so much. SOLUTION: This method for producing a bis(hydroxyphenyl)methane by performing the condensation reaction of the phenol with formaldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst is provided by feeding at least one liquid in 2 kinds of liquids consisting of a first liquid containing hydroxybenzyl alcohol produced by performing the reaction of a phenol with a formaldehyde in the presence of a base catalyst and a second liquid containing an acid catalyst, into a mixing space through in a plurality of fine flowing passages having 1-500μm width, and also 2 kinds of the liquids from passages crossing their central axes at one point, mixing and reacting under an acid condition.
