<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer operation method including a new ink presetting method. <P>SOLUTION: In the first printing process from a step S1 to a step S6, ink supply is controlled so that a measured printing density Vn is made to conform to the first target printing density V1. Thereby after the first printing process, a uniform ink amount remains on an ink roller. Thereafter, supply of ink and supply of print sheet are stopped at a step S20 and the ink is transferred to a plate cylinder and a blanket cylinder. Thereby, a little decreased uniform ink amount remains on the ink roller. Therefore, a distribution of a new ink amount is easily formed at start of next printing operation and start of printing can be stabilized in an early stage. Further cleaning of the blanket cylinder and discharge of a printing form plate are carried out at a step S22.
