BASE STATION APPARATUS OF MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station device employing digital technology capable of performing high-speed communication optimal for performing CDMA communication with a mobile station and ATM transmission with a control station.

SOLUTION: A transmitter uses a short code and a long code to spread in-phase and quadrature components of a signal to be transmitted and transmits a signal wherein the in-phase and quadrature components are spread. In such a case, the in-phase and quadrature components of the signal to be transmitted are spread using long codes different for the in-phase and quadrature component. A receiver receives the spread signal and uses a short code and a long code to despread the in-phase and quadrature components of the received signal. In such a case, the in-phase and quadrature components of the received signal are despread using long codes different for the I component and the Q component.
