<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a board to board connector capable of reducing the size and height thereof, while avoiding cost increase and assembly difficulty. <P>SOLUTION: The board to board connector electrically connects the wiring patterns of a first and a second printed-circuit boards 1, 2 by engaging a plug 3 with a socket 5. The plug contact 30 is equipped with a first receptacle contact piece 31 supported by a plug housing 10 and a first spring contact piece 34 which is connected to the first receptacle contact piece 31 and is capable of elastic deformation. The socket contact 70 is equipped with a second receptacle contact piece 75 which is supported by a socket housing 50 and is capable of contacting the first spring contact piece 34 at the time of engagement and a second spring contact piece 79 which is connected to the second receptacle contact piece 75 and is capable of elastic deformation, and is also capable of contacting the first receptacle contact piece 31 at the time of engagement.
