<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network relay apparatus which is capable of processing a multicast packet at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: When a header information write section 233b judges a received packet as a multicast packet, information of output ports is acquired from a multicast ID of the packet by a multicast table 235, and output requests as many as the number of output ports are issued to a data read section 234 based on the information of the output ports.
