摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code forming apparatus which can form an information code while following up the transporting speed in a running web and which can increase a perforated record density, and also to provide a code forming method for the web. <P>SOLUTION: The code forming apparatus is equipped with a light deflector having a mirror 22a which reflects a laser beam from a laser oscillator 21 to a web (a) in transit and which, for the purpose of making the reflected laser beam move in the same direction and with the same speed as the web (a) in transit, rotates in a prescribed angular range around the shaft 22b extending in the width direction of the web (a), wherein the mirror 22a is driven and controlled so as to be repeatedly and rotatably returned to the moving starting point quickly after a lapse of a prescribed period. The code forming apparatus is also equipped with an fθlens 23 which is interposed between the mirror 22a and the web (a) in a manner oppositely facing the mirror 22a of the light deflector and an actuating circuit 24 which makes the laser oscillator 21 operating while the mirror 22a of the light deflector is following up the web (a) with the same speed.
