PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kitchen device capable of accurately catching and detecting the infrared ray generated from the flame of a gas cooking appliance and radiated forward, and controlling the operation of a ventilating device on the basis of a detection state. SOLUTION: This kitchen device comprising the gas cooking appliance 2 stored in a part of a kitchen cabinet 1, and the ventilating device 3 mounted on an upper part of the kitchen cabinet 1, further comprises an infrared ray sensor 4 mounted on a side lacing 11 covering a clearance with respect to the gas cooking appliance 2 at a front face operation part 21 of the gas cooking appliance 2 or a front opening of the kitchen cabinet 1, and a control device 5 for controlling the operation of the ventilating device 3 on the basis of the detection state in detecting the infrared ray generated from the flame of the gas cooking appliance 2, radiated toward a front side of the kitchen cabinet 1, and reflected by a worker or a reflecting member 5, by an infrared ray sensor 4.
