PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a conveyer belt easy to install and manufacture at low cost. SOLUTION: The driving device for the conveyer belt is incorporated with a track frame 11 for the conveyer belt 12 having at least one conveying chain 24, and is provided with a conveying member 13 for the belt 12 and a device 14 for repairing expansion of the belt 12. The device 14 for repairing the expansion of the belt is structured of a support member 19 for the conveying member 13. The support member 19 is close to the belt 12 and freely moves, and is connected to a box shaped body 20 for housing the driving device 10 through at least one sliding guide 21 and through an elastic tension preventing member 22 for the belt 12.
