PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device capable of automatically setting an appropriate item dividing position corresponding to the situation, realizing a skip operation or a back skip operation through a specific operation, efficiently utilizing a reading function and enhancing convenience for users. SOLUTION: A mobile terminal device includes: an operating section 19 for instructing a reading operation; a memory 12 for storing text; a voice synthesizing section 20 for converting text data stored in the memory 12 into voice data; a voice output section 21 for outputting the voice data; and a control section 26 for recognizing a predetermined division from the text to be read when outputting the voice data from the voice output section 21, and performing control to output, from the voice output section, voice data from any dividing position before and after the reading target text at the time point of inputting a predetermined instruction when there is the instruction from the operating section 19.
