<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a common marmoset (Callithrix Jacchus)-derived β-actin gene as a polynucleotide used as an internal standard to be the reference of an expression level of the gene in a test sample for correcting the amount of a transcript when the difference in the level of gene expression of a desired gene in the two or more kinds of test samples essential to the gene expression is measured as a difference in the transcript of the gene by using an ultrasmall monkey which is one species of New World monkeys in small-sized monkeys and to provide utilization, etc., thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The common marmoset-derived β-actin gene is provided.
