PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly enhance dimensional accuracy of components in an electrically heated caulked joint.
SOLUTION: In joining a part by hot caulking by pressurizing/energizing the part while holding it between a pair of positive and negative electrodes, at least one electrode is controlled by a closed loop system in the pressurizing force and positioning/moving speed using a torque current of an electric motor. When the one electrode reaches a preset model thickness dimension (h) of the electrically heated caulked joint during the caulking process, or when reaching a position slightly before the model thickness dimension, the heating current during the energization is cut off, releasing the torque restraint or torque control of the electric motor and switching to the positional control. As a result, the displacement of the hot caulked joint is detected finally reaching the model thickness dimension (h), enabling a regular position to be maintained in a torque-released state. By enhancing the monitoring accuracy of the model thickness dimension, improvement of the component quality and reduction in a tact time can be attained.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
