<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a region for effectively utilizing external light reflection and a region for prioritizing a self light emitting display function of an organic EL element and to make both regions operate at the same time according to circumstances. <P>SOLUTION: In a part of an outer surface of a glass substrate SUB1 of an organic EL panel PNL in which the glass substrate SUB1 which is a main substrate and SUB2 which is a sealing cap as two transparent insulating substrates, are stuck together, a high quality display region R1 is formed by sticking a circular polarizer POL with adhesive and the other region where the circular polarizer POL does not exist is an additional display region R2 with a mirror function. In the high quality display region R1, external light reflection is prevented by the circular polarizer POL and contrast of a display image as the organic EL display is improved and high quality display is possible. On the other hand, the additional display region R2 with the mirror function is a state where the circular polarizer is removed, having a device structure for improving an external reflection rate and the whole region functions as the mirror (reflection mirror). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
