<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate material which facilitates the confirmation of an exposed image and is excellent in press developabilities, and an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: In a negative type printing plate material having an on printing press developable thermosensitive image forming layer on a hydrophilically surfaced base material, (a) the visible light reflection density of the hydrophilic surface is at least 0.5, (b) a visible image imparting layer, which decreases the visible light reflection density of an exposed part than the visible light reflection density of an unexposed part by at least 0.2 under the exposure condition for exposing with the energy quantity of 400 mJ/cm<SP>2</SP>by an infrared laser light having a peak maximum wavelength of 830 nm, is provided on the thermosensitive image forming layer side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
