<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting machine capable of reducing frictional resistance between a guide rail and a slider to a minimum, in which the slider is mounted to the guide rail so as to be movable while maintaining straightness. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting machine has the following constitution. Projecting shape parts (32, 41) are respectively vertically formed to either one of the guide rail (30) and the slider (40). Recessed shape parts (31, 42) are respectively vertically formed to either the other of the guide rail (30) and the slider (40). The slider (40) is mounted to the guide rail (30) by mutually fitting the projecting shape parts (32, 41) and the recessed shape parts (31, 42). The contact sites of the guide rail (30) and the slider (40) are only the projecting shape parts (32, 41) and the recessed shape parts (31, 42) during cutting. Therefore, friction occurring between the guide rail (30) and the slider (40) can be suppressed to a minimum.
