PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the loads of a measuring instrument having server function and a terminal having client function while precisely recognizing a log-in state by the server function by use of an FTP (file transfer protocol). SOLUTION: In this connecting state monitoring method for connecting the terminal to the measuring instrument through a network to monitor the connecting state of the measuring instrument, the terminal has a browser including a FTP frame and a screen display frame as the client function, and the measuring instrument includes a FTP server as the server function. In requesting the connection to the measuring instrument, the terminal starts up the FTP frame and transmits a connection request to the FTP server to perform connecting processing.
