PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make regeneratable metal cutting powder with high regenerating rate by making shapeable a compression-shaped block of the metal cutting powder having large bulk density. SOLUTION: In a method for shaping the compression-shaped block of the spherical metal cutting powder by using a shaping die M composed of one pair of movable dies 2 for shaping the spherical recessing shaped surface on the opposite surface and a fixed die 3 for holding the one pair of movable dies 2 so as to be slidable, even at the maximum compressing time, a belt-state part 12 having a prescribed width is shaped at the portion crossing with the plane passing through the center of a spherical body on the surface of the spherical body so that the one pair of movable dies 2 are not brought into contact with each other die even at the maximum compressing time.
