PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant recovery method which can recover a sealant efficiently at low cost and a user-friendly sealant recovery apparatus. SOLUTION: The sealant treating method includes the steps of adding at least one of salt, acid and an organic solvent to a used sealant containing a latex containing natural rubber and synthetic rubber and antifreeze liquid to produce a solid component and separating for separating the above solid from a liquid component. Moreover, the sealant treating apparatus has an outer case 12 housing the used sealant and having a freely closable liquid exhaust port, an inner case 14 installed in the inside of the outer case 12 and having a large number of openings for allowing passage of the liquid component and an addition means 16 for adding a predetermined solution in the inner case 14.
