PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is capable of manufacturing a photocatalyst titanium oxide without causing the dispersion among the photocatalyst activities. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method is characterized by baking a photocatalyst titanium oxide precursor without contacting with water and thereafter by contacting it with water at 100°C-600°C. The photocatalyst titanium oxide precursor is titanium hydroxide, orthotitanic acid, metatitanic acid, titanium oxide, or titanium nitride. The contacting with water is carried out preferably while cooling. The cooling is performed by a temperature difference of 30°C or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
