PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filling device designed to solve such a problem that, after filling is completed, inner pressure inside a filling nozzle rises due to the closure of the opening end inside the filling nozzle being lowered to close the opening end of the filling nozzle, thus, in the next operation, that is, when the valve inside the filling nozzle is raised, response becomes poor by so much as the inner pressure has risen. SOLUTION: The filling device P comprises a cylinder 1 having an inlet port 1a for filling material, an outlet port 1b for filling material, and a passage 1c for filling material communicating with the inlet and outlet ports for filling material, a movable body 11 that moves inside the cylinder, a movable body's tip outer periphery portion 11a that is provided at the tip side of the movable body to close the outlet port for filling material by coming in contact with the inner periphery portion of the outlet port for filling material, a movable body's recess 11b provided at the side directed from the tip end outer periphery portion of the movable body toward the rear end portion of the movable body so as to recess from the tip end outer periphery portion of the movable body, a retractable means S, and a filling nozzle 20 that is connected to the outlet port for filling material and fills the filling material into a container B, wherein the moving means moves the movable body so as to protrude when charging the filling material, the tip end of the movable body from the outlet port for filling material, the movable body is moved so as to open the outlet port for filling material through the movable body's recess 11b, and when stopping the charging, the movable body is moved to close the outlet of the filling material at the outer peripheral part of the tip end of the movable body at the front end of the moving body.
