<p>A multi-type air conditioner in which a high pressure can be maintained even when the outside air temperature is low. The multi-type air conditioner comprises an outdoor unit provided with an outdoor controller, a plurality of indoor units each provided with an indoor controller, a unit for switching the operation of the plurality of indoor units, and main piping consisting of a liquid pipe, a delivery gas pipe and an intake gas pipe and connecting the outdoor unit with the plurality of indoor units through the switching unit. Switching can be made among total cooling operation where all the indoor units perform cooling, total heating operation where all the indoor units perform heating, and simultaneous heating/cooling operation where each indoor unit performs simultaneous operation of heating/cooling. The outdoor unit comprises an outdoor heat exchanger consisting of a first outdoor heat exchanger serving as a condenser during cooling operation and serving as an evaporator during heating operation, and a second outdoor heat exchanger serving as a condenser during simultaneous heating/cooling operation. The second outdoor heat exchanger is disposed upstream from the first outdoor heat exchanger in the air flow direction.</p> |
