The cable extension reel has a housing (1) containing a reel for the cable and a sliding plate. The reel is operated by a coil spring and the exterior sidewall of the housing has a press button (2) to control release of the spring. The coil spring extends between a sliding plate and the inner face of a clamping plates controlled by the press button.
