<p>A liquid crystal projector cooled efficiently by liquid cooling cycle in which disturbance of a video image is eliminated by removing bubbles in liquid refrigerant, and a liquid cooler for a liquid crystal panel. Light from a light source (112) is divided into three parallel rays which are passed through liquid crystal panels 101(R), 101(G) and 101(B) of R, G and B and subjected to intensity modulation. The modulated rays are subjected to color composition by a composition prism (119) and projected through a projection lens (127) to obtain a video image. In such a liquid crystal projector, each liquid crystal panel has channels (6, 7) of liquid refrigerant formed in contact with its liquid crystal panel area and further provided with a tank (200). The tank has outlets (205, 207) formed substantially in the center of the side face outer wall of the tank in the height direction so that bubbles are captured internally even if the device is arranged upside down to supply bubble-free liquid refrigerant. Alternatively, each liquid crystal panel (101) is provided with a curved part (141) for capturing bubbles formed at a part of its liquid refrigerant channel.</p> |
