WATER-BASED MEDICINAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING AZITHROMYCIN AND METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME

An azithromycin-containing water-based medicinal composition characterized by containing at least one member selected from the group consisting of azithromycin, the anhydride thereof, hydrates thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and at least one member selected from the group consisting of monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, amino acids, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts of these and by containing neither boric acid nor a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and a method of preparing the water-based medicinal composition, characterized in that the pH of an azithromycin-containing liquid is kept at 4.0 or higher throughout the whole preparation steps. The azithromycin-containing water-based medicinal composition is excellent in thermal stability and storage stability.
