Disclosed herein is a front panel for a plasma display panel (PDP) capable of improving the light-emitting efficiency and considerably lowering the driving voltage of a PDP. The front panel comprises a transparent substrates, sustain electrodes, bus electrodes, dielectric layers and a protective layer wherein tip groups are formed in regions of an upper dielectric layer corresponding to the sustain electrodes, each of the tip groups consisting of one or more Nanotips at least partially protruded from the surface of the protective layer of the nanotips, the nanotips are spaced apart from each other at least by a distance where field enhancement is caused, and the nanotips are coated with a protective film such that they are protected against plasma sputtering. Further disclosed is a method for preparing the front panel.
