PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize a proper correction of an input image according to the category of the subject thereof.

SOLUTION: A subject recognition part 3 detects a person area from an image inputted by an image input part 2, and identifies the category a person in the person area belongs to. A correction area detection part 4 extracts a correction object area from the person area, and a correction part 7 performs a correction based on the identified category to the correction object area.
