<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement method usefully applied to the evaluation etc. of the degree of embrittlement of materials used for a power plant, a turbine, etc. based on the width or depth of intergranular corrosion grooves, and used for highly accurately measuring, by image analysis, the width or volume of a recessed part or projecting part existing on a body surface. <P>SOLUTION: When calculating the width or volume of a measuring-object recessed part or projecting part existing on the object surface from three-dimensional image data obtained by measuring the object surface, the image data are inputted into a computer to display a two-dimensional surface shape image (monochromic gray image) obtained by expressing heightwise information by using light and dark; horizontal correction processing is performed on the image data by eliminating a brightness gradient uniformly developing along vertical and horizontal directions over the whole of the displayed shape image; the recessed part or projecting part in the shape image is traced to generate a mask image on the shape image after the correction processing is performed therefor; and the width and volume of a portion covered with the mask image are calculated based on the image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
