<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acrylate film having a negative retardation value in the film thickness direction and to provide a superior liquid crystal display using the film as a retardation plate, a supporting body of a retardation plate, or a protective film of a polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The cellulose acrylate film has less than 0 nm retardation value in the film thickness direction and acylation degrees in hydroxyl groups in cellulose satisfying expressions of (I): 2.80≤SA+SP<2.87, (II):0≤SA≤1.0 and (III):1.8≤SP<2.87. In expressions (I) to (III), SA and SP represent substitution degrees of acyl groups in hydroxyl groups of cellulose, with SA representing a substitution degree of acetyl groups and SP representing a substitution degree of propionyl groups. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
