PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which ensures little surface deterioration of the electrophotographic photoreceptor in a charging system by an adjacent discharge with an alternating voltage superposed on a direct voltage, has very good mechanical durability, and can perform stable image formation over a prolonged period of time. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by forming at least a photosensitive layer 12 and a surface protective layer 13 in this order on a conductive support 1. A film containing hydrogen and nitrogen and having a diamond-like carbon or amorphous carbon structure is disposed as the surface protective layer 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
