PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure airtightness of an I-shaped heat exchanger and to prevent the vibration, in a housing for an air conditioner of a cabin of an automobile for storing the heat exchanger. SOLUTION: This housing 1 is used in the air conditioner for the cabin of the automobile. The housing 1 stores the heat exchanger 3 having first projecting surface 12 and second projecting surface 13 installed with water reservoirs 4 and 5 having front surfaces provided with orifices 6 and 7 connected to a coolant circulating passage, an air inflow surface 8, an air outflow surface 9, a front surface 10 and a rear surface 11. In the housing 1 having a front wall 15 provided with an opening part 14 facing to the front surface 10 of the heat exchanger 3, a cover 24 (i) having first and second passages 37 and 38 communicated with the orifices 6 and 7, (ii)connected to the front wall 15 of the housing 1 to face to the front surface 10 of the heat exchanger 3, and (iii) doubly formed with airtight means 39, 40, 36 and 41 capable of limiting outflow of air passing the opening part 14 of the housing 1 or the passages 37 and 38 is mounted.
