<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent infection even in the case of filling a bone defect in a part, especially, the inner part of a mouth having the possibility of the infection, and also to provide more excellent bone regeneration compared with natural healing. <P>SOLUTION: A bone defect filler is constituted of the aggregate of fibers containing chitin or its derivative. Calcium phosphate granules are carried among the fibers of the aggregate. When the filler is immersed in a phosphate buffered saline which contains 10 μg lysozyme per 1ml for 120 hours under the condition at 37°C temperature, 30%-85% of the chitin or its derivative component is dissolved out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
