<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment and a method for screen printing which can guarantee proper execution of the work for changing setup which accompanies replacement of a mask plate. <P>SOLUTION: In the screen printing equipment which brings the mask plate into contact with a board to print a paste on the board through pattern holes, a mask holder 23 holding the mask plate is so constituted that the fitting position is variable according to the size of the mask plate. The size of the mask plate is recognized by detecting the position of the mask holder 23 by a holder position detecting unit 24, and based on the result of this recognition, a preparatory work for printing corresponding to the discriminated mask plate is executed by an instruction of a work execution instruction means. This guarantees proper execution of the work for changing setup which accompanies replacement of the mask plate, and enables prevention of a malfunction or the deterioration of printing quality due to the interference of the mask plate with other components, or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
