LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND ANALYZER PROVIDED WITH THE SAME

A liquid crystal display which can detect display failures generated due to short-circuits between a common electrode and a counter electrode thereof caused by conductive impurities mixed in a liquid display panel, and an analyzer provided with such liquid crystal display are provided. A blood glucose meter (10) is provided with a display part (11) and a microcomputer (15). The microcomputer (15) uses ports (15a, 15b) as I/O ports for display failure inspection, in the case of inspecting a display failure in a liquid display panel (11a) of a display part (11). The microcomputer (15) performs display failure inspection by detecting whether a detection signal transmitted from the port (15a) can be received by the other port (15b) or not.
